“Chiropractic is in my soul,” I was born to be a chiropractor. My grandfather was a chiropractor and I loved seeing all the “chiropractic miracles.” After graduating from Greenon High School I went straight to Wright State University where I received a bachelors of science in Biology with a minor in physiological psychology. Next, I went to New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) and received my Doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.). My intern and residence program was performed at the Buffalo, NY Veterans Affairs Medical Center. After graduating from chiropractic college in 2005, my wife and I decided to return home to family and joined a chiropractic practice in Springfield, Ohio. In 2007 we purchased the practice. Forever a learner, I continue to pursue higher education and became a certified functional medical practitioner (C.F.M.P.) in 2019. Shortly after we rebranded our office to Harding Holistics were we “create health and change lives.” Creating a healthy vibrant family using alternative health is awesome. I love chiropractic and the power nutrition have to transform people lives. We are blessed to have patients from all over the United States as well as several countries seeking our help.

I always thought I would be a pediatrician. However, I did not want to be stuck in the medical model of treating symptoms and giving medications. I did not grow up with chiropractic like my husband, so it seemed a little weird to me. During my time at Wright States University I had my 1st experience with chiropractic and realized it was what I was looking for. I graduated with honors from Wright State University with a bachelors of science in biology.  I then went to New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) for my doctorate of Chiropractic (D.C.). I did my intern and residence program at the Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center. School was always easy for me - without much effort I was able to graduate in the top 5%. I became a certified functional medicine practitioner (C.F.M.P.) in 2013. And in 2020 became certified in the Callahan emotional release technique. After the birth of our first child I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Fatigue, brain fog, losing hair, long naps, the whole thing. This showed me the medical system has no good plan to help people dealing with autoimmune issues. Because of this I have devoted much of my time to researching, learning, self experimentation, and teaching about women’s health. My husband and I are blessed to help others. I home school our children, I am a tutor in our Classical Conversations co-operative, I am sought after for my consulting, I continue to practice chiropractic and functional medicine.

“While other professions are concerned with changing the environment to suit the weakened body, chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to suit the environment.”

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is from Greek meaning done by hand. It is grounded in the principle that the body can heal itself when the skeletal system is correctly aligned and the nervous system is functioning properly. To achieve this, the practitioner uses his or her hands (or an adjusting tool) to perform specific “adjustments” of the vertebrae. When bones of the spine are not correctly articulated, it results in a condition known as a vertebral subluxation. When a vertebral subluxation is present, nerve transmission is disrupted, which causes pain in the back, as well as other areas of the body.

You may think of you nervous system like the electrical system of your body. Much like a regular fuse box, the nervous system controls and coordinates all organs and structures of the human body. When tension and stress build up in an area of the spine, it creates interference and overloads the nerve or nerves nearby, creating what is known as a subluxation. This acts similar to a blown fuse in your house. By finding and correcting subluxations in your spine, specific chiropractic adjustments help restore power and function to those parts of the body!

We have seen chiropractic work miracles. We are blessed our skills allow us to provide chiropractic care to our community. We help everyone from infants to centurions, from pregnant moms to hesitant dads, from clumsy runners to professional athletes, from grandchildren to grandparents, and anyone who finds a fit with our office.

“Functional Medicine determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of disease for each individual”. – The IFM

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.

It is an evolution in the practice of medicine that better addresses the healthcare needs of the 21st century. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.

By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.

Functional Medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, Functional Medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.

Functional Medicine is a personalized, systems-oriented model that empowers patients and practitioners to achieve the highest expression of health by working in collaboration to address the underlying cause of disease and ill-health
